Opening Day

On Friday February 17th the new Red Barn Market on the corner of Esquimalt and Admirals Rd opened it’s doors at 12:24pm to the Esquimalt community.  The store began construction last August and was finally finished with the placement of the last shelf tag at noon on Friday.  We were met by an excited group of people eagerly waiting to be the first through the doors.

The Esquimalt location has all the features the Red Barn Market has become known for. From fresh produce, local products and grocery items to our famous smoked meats and cheeses, Island Raised Beef, Chicken, Pork, and Lamb,  as well as our Tall as the Barn Sandwiches.  With 16ft of Sandwich Bar space we are ready for the busy Esquimalt lunch crowds!

Meet our Store Managers Jon Grady and Desiree Medos

“I’ve been in the grocery industry for 15 years. My background is in the meat side of the business. I’ve been a Red Seal butcher since 2007 and in the 9 years that I’ve been with the Red Barn, I’ve moved from working in our famous smokehouse, to managing at every meat department in the company. (I’m pretty proud to say that I’m the only person to be a manager at
all 6 locations!) As the Store Manager at the Esquimalt location, I’ll bring my extensive knowledge in meat and passion for the grocery industry to ensure our customers get the ultimate shopping experience every time they walk in the door. I look forward to building and growing our relationship with the Esquimalt community!”

Grand Opening

The store will be celebrating  our Grand Opening on Saturday February 25th with a 10AM ribbon cutting. Esquimalt mayor Barb Desjardins and Songhees Cheif Ron Sam are expected to attend the event.  We will then welcome everyone into see the new store and sample local fares like by Moonshine Mama’s, Level Ground Trading, Phillips Soda, as well as a draw for free Barn Bucks cards and more!

The Esquimalt store is open daily 6:00am-9:00pm 7 Days a Week
