Oak Bay Opening

Today, Thursday February 4th at 8:00am, we opened the doors of our new store on Oak Bay Avenue and welcomed our very first customers.  As they took in the sights of old Victoria photos from years past alongside wagon wheels, plows and fruit crates from the island, we were greeted with smiles and cheers all day long.  Our staff have been working tirelessly for the last few weeks, installing equipment, building shelves, stocking grocery, hanging signs, training new staff and so much more which all led up to today’s opening.

Our new owner/operators Scott Travers and Melissa Hazenboom are both produce specialists having 40 years combined grocery experience serving the people of Victoria.

When I started in the grocery business as a young 15 year old bagging groceries, I never thought that 20 years later I would own my own grocery store. To say I am excited about opening this brand new Red Barn Market location on the Victoria/Oak Bay border would be a major understatement. Bringing a new locally owned shopping experience to the residents of this fantastic community, is something I could just not pass up! I can’t wait to get the doors open and provide the neighbourhood with all the fresh products you have come to expect from the Red Barn Market.
