Purpose of this Position – Coordinator, Smokehouse Packaging:
Reporting directly to the Manager, Smokehouse Operations, the Smokehouse Packaging Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the safe, effective and efficient packaging of Smokehouse products, contributing to the supply of a unique and varied array of high quality smoked products to Red Barn retail locations and helping to build and sustain the Red Barn reputation for quality, integrity, safety and service excellence.
Position Deliverables/Accountabilities:
– Leads the Smokehouse Packaging team, ensuring that Red Barn Market performance standards are communicated, understood, and being met
– Ensures that all packaging safety and quality standards are communicated and followed to help prevent risk or loss, and reporting any matters of concern to the Manager
– Organizes and prioritizes tasks to meet deadlines while maintaining quality control and placing the highest importance on food safety
– Monitors packaging and distribution protocols to ensure they are effective, taking corrective measures where necessary
– Checks equipment regularly and reports any concerns to the Manager
– Assigns tasks, communicates information and instructions
– Participates in the hiring of new staff and ensures that they are successfully trained and oriented
– Assists in the completion of performance reviews as required, following up on action plans and suggestions
– Maintains a respectful workplace, intervening where necessary to resolve conflict among staff
